SHEEP

We raise purebred Icelandic Sheep. We chose the breed for its triple purpose: meat, fiber, and dairy. Icelandic Sheep are the perfect breed for our hilly, forested 53 acres of land. Icelandic sheep are known for their excellent mothering skills, easy birthing, and excellent growth on pasture alone. They produce fine, sought-after wool for spinning and lean mild meat.

We lamb in the spring when the sheep can choose to lamb on pasture or select the barn. We have lambs to sell in fall and winter. We currently sell lambs live, for either meat or pet.

Our sheep are pasture-raised and feed hay in the non-growing season. Lambs are weaned naturally. All the sheep have free choice access to Back-in-Balance minerals.

We currently have 7 ewes, 2 rams, and 1 lamb.
